Facebook Tip #7: The Power of the Pinned Post

Facebook Tip #7: The Power of the Pinned Post

If you’ve been following our blog, then your information is up to date and you are posting content more frequently. When you post new content to your Facebook Page, older posts get pushed down your timeline. But there are times that you may need a specific post to stay at the top of your page — even after you publish new updates.

To solve for this, Facebook offers the ability to “pin” one post at a time to the top of your page. You can use pinned posts as a way to promote things like new offers, upcoming events, or important announcements.

Take Note: You can't pin a post on your personal Timeline.

Tips on how to pin post in Facebook:

Go to the Facebook post you want to pin to the top of your page. At the right corner you will see a small arrow pointing down.

Select 'Pin to Top of Page' if you want the post to appear at the top of your timeline. The post will remain at the top of your Facebook page until you choose to unpin it.

Did you know that you can make other changes to individual posts? If you want to edit the time or date of your post, just click 'Change Date'. If you’ve had an event and you no longer want the post to appear on your page, select 'Hide from Timeline'.  And every once in awhile, you may want to get rid of a post. Just select 'Delete Post'.
